Canva is easy to underestimate because the interface is simple. But for many POD products and basic print jobs, it can absolutely produce usable files if you set the document up correctly from the start.
Set the size first
Create a custom canvas at the final print dimensions. If the printer requires bleed, enable it immediately so you can design with the trim area in mind instead of fixing layout problems later.

Use high-quality assets only
Low-resolution uploads stay low resolution. Canva cannot magically turn a weak source file into a premium print. Keep your own graphics large, check transparency carefully, and avoid stretching small images.
Export the right way
For print documents, use PDF Print with bleed and crop marks when needed. For POD artwork uploads, a PNG with transparent background is often the better option. Match the export to the platform instead of treating every job the same.
Canva works well when you respect its limits. It is fast for layout and assembly, but you still need good source files and a clear production checklist.
